Hi everyone!

I'm Larisse and I've been in charge of Graphic Associates monthly email newsletters. Going into the job, I did not have any prior knowledge about the Printing Industry so I had a lot to learn! Luckily, Rick Patterson and Mike Malinosky have been very kind in explaining and teaching all I need to know about print. Since working for Graphic Associates, I've had the opportunity to tour a print shop (Brothers Printing), get to know career centers dedicated to developing students for the print industry (Cuyahoga Valley Career Center), learn about Print Week and study different (and seemingly complicated) print and finishing machines for our features. I hope everyone has been enjoying reading our articles! I feel like I’ve learned a lot but I still feel like I have a long way to go when compared to Rick and Mike, who have been in the industry for so many years.

This month, I'll be sharing my story about visiting home, the Philippines, and traveling to Japan in October. My family is all over the world and it’s been a year and a half since we’ve all been complete so this trip was very special to us. In Manila, Philippines, I was preoccupied seeing all my friends and relatives. My friends and I had a Halloween party to celebrate my Homecoming! I was Wednesday Addams for Halloween. A lot of my friends welcomed me back home and they donned very cool and cute costumes too.

In Japan, my family and I went to Tokyo and Osaka. At Tokyo, we made sure to see Hachiko, the Shibuya crossing and eat traditional Japanese cuisine! We actually ate a lot in Tokyo, period.

At Osaka, we went to a lot of temples, to Nara Park, to Osaka castle and to a bath house! And of course, we still ate a lot in Osaka.

Vacation was absolutely amazing. To anyone who wants recommendations where to go in the Philippines or in Japan, don’t hesitate to ask me for destinations!

It’s been a while since my vacation and now I’m back to work, looking for features for Graphic Associates. Let me know if you want to be featured or have any ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!
